Dr. Chavira will speak on the state of COVID in Los Angeles, advances in care, the prospects of relief in the coming months (vaccines, et al.), and best practices to care for yourself during the current crisis.

Dr. Chavira is an Associate Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at UCLA as well as an Emergency Physician and Medical Director of Clinical Observation at Martin Luther King Community Hospital, currently the “epicenter of the epicenter” of COVID in the world. At MLK, Dr Chavira runs the unit responsible for outpatient treatment of high risk COVID patients as well as acting as a Lead in the airway teams that are responsible for intubating, coding, and performing life-saving procedures on COVID patients.

Dr. Chavira is also the Medical Director and founder of Paidea Health, a Health and Wellness Center in Beverly Hills that focuses on the integration of Body, Mind, and Soul into self-healing and preventative medicine - methods proven in improving your immune system and health in a viral crisis as well as in recovery post illness. Dr. Chavira obtained his M.D. from Stanford University, his post graduate training in Emergency and Sports Medicine from Harbor UCLA, his bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Theology from Loyola Marymount University and has over 20 years of experience in Emergency and Sports Medicine and in Wellness Counseling.

El Dr. Daniel Chavira es Profesor Clínico Asociado de Medicina de Emergencia en UCLA, así como Médico de Emergencia y Director Médico de Observación Clínica en el Hospital Comunitario Martin Luther King, actualmente el “epicentro del epicentro” de Covid en el mundo. En MLK, el Dr. Chavira dirige la unidad responsable del tratamiento ambulatorio de pacientes con Covid de alto riesgo, además de actuar como líder en los equipos de vías respiratorias que son responsables de la intubación, codificación y realización de procedimientos que salvan vidas en pacientes con Covid.

El Dr. Chavira también es el director médico y fundador de Paidea Health, un centro de salud y bienestar en Beverly Hills que se enfoca en la integración del cuerpo, la mente y el alma en la medicina preventiva, métodos probados para mejorar su sistema inmunológico y salud en una crisis viral, así como en la recuperación después de la enfermedad. El Dr. Chavira obtuvo su doctorado en Medicina de la Universidad de Stanford, su formación de posgrado en Medicina de Emergencias y Deportes de Harbor UCLA, su licenciatura en Biología y Teología de la Universidad de Loyola Marymount, y tiene más de 20 años de experiencia en Medicina de Emergencias y Deportes y en Asesoramiento de Bienestar de Salud.
